I painted the bougainvillea blooming at Sky Beach in Bahrain. Although it depicts a landscape in a foreign land, the artist, having grown up in a fellow island nation, finds a quiet sense of familiarity and intimacy within the scene.

バーレーンのスカイビーチに咲き誇るブーゲンビリアを描きました。異国の風景でありながら、おなじ島国で育った作者は、その景色にどこか懐かしい親密さを見出しています。
